I picked up this brochure as a young boy when the new range of Plastic Meccano was released in 1971. On the centre page was a price list which makes fascinating reading some 40 years later. The Set A at that time cost just 98 pence ! But soon after this brochure was released severe inflation began to hit the UK economy and other copies I have of this same brochure have the prices removed from the list.

I used to spend hours looking through this little brochure dreaming of having a Set 400. As a child I did eventually get a Set 300X which together with my Set C very nearly made up the contents of a Set 400.
